F-U, Pay Me!

This guy had a bad day at the office. I'm guessing he was knocked out before his creditors gave him his message. I wonder if he knew it was there when he got the mugshot.

Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun- Divine Music From a Jail

After watching Genghis Blues, I thought that I had heard all the Tuvan throat-singing that I'd ever need to hear. I was wrong- OV Ouin is something else entirely-- mournful, heartsick folk ballads, underscored by a wonderfully ethereal accordian (or concertina?), rather than the fast-plucked string staccatos of Tuvan song that I'd become accustomed to expect. One of my favorite albums ever. Just you listen here:

*Many thanks to Mr. Matthew Wells for supplying me with this haunting little album a few years back.

Ngozi Family- 45,000 Volts

Just digitized my copy of this amazing Zamrock classic, recently reissued on vinyl by No Smoke Records. Check the crucial Sabbath riffs by way of 70s Zambia. A must!
